Artistic Parks in Nature: the bridge for teaching contemporary art in schools

This project has been co-financed by the European Commission Directorate - General for Education and Culture Framework programme "Culture 2000"

Project Artistic Parks in Nature: the bridge for teaching contemporary art in schools has been granted by the European Commission Directorate - General for Education and Culture Framework programme "Culture 2000".

Four partners: NMAC Foundation in Spain, The Yorkshire Sculpture Park in England, Associazione Arte in Erba in Italy and Europos Parkas in Lithuania will offer their facilities to young artists who want to work and experience with Elementary school children. At the same time, will contact four schools in their territory that will choose one class. Every institution will grant one artist during one month. During this period every institution together with the school will organize meetings and workshops in the sculpture park. The qualities of every sculpture park will facilitate the relationship between the artist and the children, since the own atmosphere will become the working material for the group: watching nature, trees, and also the spaces chosen by other artists in the sculpture park will act as an incentive to the project that this artist has to do together with the children. In the final phase the artist will work with the elements of the park and from the experience at school. The projects and all the production material will take part of a touring exhibition in all four countries.
